Devin O'Malley

Managing Director

Devin O’Malley joins Narrative after nearly two decades of working within the highest levels of Washington public affairs, including in the Executive Branch, Capitol Hill, and political campaigns. He brings to clients a deep understanding of Washington and unmatched expertise in crisis response and management.

Devin manages high-stakes reputational and public policy campaigns for clients across industries, including banking, finance and trade, healthcare, and cybersecurity. Recently, when a publicly traded multinational corporation faced serious reputational challenges, the company relied on Devin’s steady strategic thinking to navigate incoming press inquiries and to proactively manage the firm’s reputation, without triggering additional scrutiny.

Previously, Devin served as a senior communications strategist on Governor Glenn Youngkin’s (R-VA) historic Virginia gubernatorial campaign, which The New York Times called “a remarkable upset” that “will be reverse-engineered for its lessons by both parties.” Devin recently served as an advisor to former Vice President Mike Pence, his presidential campaign, and his issue advocacy organization, Advancing American Freedom.

Devin first served as Press Secretary to Vice President Pence and as Senior Communications Advisor for the White House Coronavirus Task Force. Devin coordinated executive branch communications there and advised cabinet officials and agency heads on communications issues and messaging strategies.

Devin’s Executive Branch experience also extends to the US Department of the Treasury and the US Department of Justice, where he served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, the second-ranking public affairs position. He started his career with US Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) and served as deputy campaign manager for US Senator Tom Cotton’s (R-AR) closely watched election in 2014.

Devin graduated from Washington & Jefferson College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He’s an excellent (amateur) golfer and enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children.
